Why are lithium compounds the most covalent in group 1?

Lithium is more electronegative some of the others in group 1, like rubidium or caesium. This means that it doesn't want to lose its valence electron as easily, making it less likely to form ionic bonds, meaning more likely to be covalent. (Although lithium compounds are still very ionic.)
