Does the sun's spectral variations (such as cosmic ray or UV production) significantly impact TSI?

That is, are there "qualitative" versus quantitative implications of the sun's TSI in terms of possible climate impact? (Yes, I realize that general TSI and ground level temperature trends show no direct relationship. But could solar spectral profiles possibly impact other phenomena such as cloud formation, isotope ratios, or perhaps have cascading impact through ozone production, etc.?)
