Why do some feel they are ENTITLED to anything except their inalienable rights?

In my opinion it stems from jealousy, poor upbringing, indoctrination into socialism via the public school system, the influence of Communism, and the desire to have a nanny state. No Cell phones are not a right, and we the tax payer should not be forced to pay for them for anyone, in my opinion
